Honestly we were very lucky in Central Manhattan that the hurricane did not have a very strong effect on us or our surroundings. We never lost power, most trees are still standing, etc. However, I know a lot of Manhattan was indeed effected. Some places got hit hard. As for us this is the most destruction we found when it was finally clear to leave.
